Confessions by Hoseibo Incident One This was many years ago, we were preparing for our brigade exercise. My dept was the one that plans till very late during exercise prep. This night we prepped our stuff till about 3am. We finally completed what we wanted to do for the day and we called it a night. Me and my department colleagues all went back to our bunks to sleep. I decided to go shower before I sleep and my bunk was at 4th level and my colleagues 3rd level. As I walked into the toilet, I could hear the shower running at the last cubicle from the door. I did not really notice if the door was closed or open but the shower was on. I went to the other end cubicle facing the main door. I thought well dunno who else showering at this time. After showering, I came out of the cubicle. As usual, the kaypoh me walked to the end of the toilet to look at the cubicle where the shower was on just now, I saw the door was open and the floor was DRY! I don’t know if I was hallucinating it all as we just finished a tiring planning/ prep and it was already 3 plus am and being sleep deprived. I wasn’t thinking of any supernatural stuff prior to showering as well although my camp was famous for supernatural stuff. I buat bodoh and just walked back to my bunk, change into my sleep clothes and went to bed…. my camp was famous for supernatural stuff. Incident Two This happened to one of my company’s men, (not my direct ) My camp was built on reclaimed land (in Bedok), with a large wooded area just outside the fence, bordering a canal. The wooded area is govt land so we did some training there one night for night walk. One of my coy’s men, K, from a different platoon started screaming and crying hysterically and was pulled out of the night walk immediately by a couple of commanders. After he calmed down and my commanders asked him what happened he said he saw Japanese soldier beheading people in the wooded area. ( the place was reclaimed land so it was the beach prior , which explains) Fortunately K came out of the incident largely undamaged as some people who saw such horrific stuff usually don’t recover well. One of my coy’s men, K, from a different platoon started screaming and crying hysterically and was pulled out of the night walk immediately by a couple of commanders. The worst experiences was when you are the platoon Sgt or CSM who is supposed to count strength and be the last man during movement, especially when moving in vegetation. Single file most of the time.
Many a times when I’m walking behind and occasionally turn back to check I get the vibes on and off. Just have to shrug it off and not think about it and carry on. Confessions by JD About 10 years ago, during my National Service BMT, I sustained an injury and was taken out of course (OOC). There were two of us, C and myself, in the same situation. During the BMT outfield exercise at Tekong, we were placed under HQ as they were lacking manpower. They only had one new ASA, K, who handled admin work, along with a couple of previously OOC guys. The outfield HQ was in a camp called San Yong Kong (SYK), a secluded area in the forest about a 30-minute drive from the ferry terminal. The moment we reached SYK, it felt creepy. The camp had an eerie atmosphere, with multiple empty bunks and a large sheltered area in the middle of nowhere. It was rundown, and there was no electricity. A portable generator had to be used sparingly due to limited fuel, so it was pitch dark most of the time at night. Even with electricity, lights were only installed in the large sheltered area. The HQ area was in the big shelter. C and I went to recon around the empty bunks to set up our sleeping area. As we were still considered recruits, we were told by the “lao jiao” service support guys not to sleep in the HQ area as it was reserved for them. K decided to join us. The bunks were single-floor and run-down, with barn-like doors without any built-in locks. A chain had to be used if the doors were to be locked. The first bunk was messy and dirty, with jungle beds all around. K suggested moving to the next one, as there was too much to clean, and being next to the HQ would be noisy at night with the HQ just being beside. The next bunk was different. Its doors were tied together with wire, as if someone was warning us not to enter. But being dumb NS boys, we didn’t think much of it. We untied the wire and stepped in. The moment we entered, the hair on the back of my neck stood up. Something felt off. There were three neat piles of leaves in the middle of the bunk, about 2 meters apart. I thought it was weird but didn’t pay much attention. Its doors were tied together with wire, as if someone was warning us not to enter. Since the doors of this bunk were closed, it was relatively cleaner apart from the piles of leaves. We decided to set up our jungle beds here, kicking the leaves into one corner. In hindsight, maybe we shouldn’t have done that. We carried on with our duties during the day. When night fell, the camp became even more eerie. As there were no lights, we had to use our torchlights to move around. The darkness was so intense we could barely see each other. To kill time, as the enciks and sergeants were not back yet, we were sitting around together with a lamp in the middle, just talking cock. Suddenly, C said he apparently had the gift of the third eye and had been seeing a lady in white around the camp, watching us. We were like, “Don’t talk cock la, suddenly say you got third eye.” K said, “Don’t say this kind of thing here leh.” From then on, he started sharing his ghostly experiences, which I can’t remember anymore. We all felt that he was just kidding and trying to act cool and different. When the enciks came back to HQ around 9-10 pm. We returned to the bunk to sleep, as we had to wake up at 4 am to set off to collect hot rations for the enciks. The earlier part of the night was fine, and I fell asleep almost immediately. But around 1-3 am (I guess), I suddenly woke up as it got really cold. When I was awake, still with my eyes closed, I sensed something beside me. You know the feeling when someone puts their hand near your face when your eyes are closed? It felt like that. Shivers ran down my spine. I was like, “Fuck! Don’t open your eyes. Just sleep! Just sleep!” It felt like an eternity, but I was eventually able to fall back asleep. In the morning, I asked C, who was sleeping beside me, whether he woke up in the middle of the night and stood near me or sat by his bed. He was like, “No? Why? Did you feel something?” I told him what happened. He said, “Told you right.” “What did you see?” he asked. I was like, “Bro, I didn’t want to see anything. I kept my eyes closed the whole time.” We decided not to tell the rest about what happened and came up with an excuse to move into the other bunk where the drivers were stationed instead. For the next three nights, I braced myself to sleep, but fortunately, nothing else happened. Interestingly, found out that Sanyongkong camp was named after one of the nearby kampongs in Tekong.
Confession by Hoseibo This story of mine was during army training in a jungle in a certain neighbouring country. Certain taboos are present whenever we go to nature, like mountain climbing etc. there should be no swearing of cuss words, pointing out weird things along our path in the jungle, anyhow spitting or peeing in the jungles. We were doing navigation in the jungle. I was the navigator. I’m confident in my navigation skills to bring us up the ridge of the knoll but during this navigation, I started from the start line up the trail towards the ridge line. As we went up to the ridge line, I discovered that I could not find the spot. We backtracked a few times back to the last known location and resumed navigation but could not find the ridge line. After discussing with my group, another person took over the navigation portion. We went back down to the last location and he navigated. We went back the same route I led them and then lo and behold, we got to the top of the ridge line we are supposed to go. I’m definitely befuddled why I couldn't find the way previously when my colleague took the same route as me had found the way. I did not ask him what he did but as I mentioned about taboos, I might have inadvertently spit or peed somewhere I should not have thus been unable to find the way up. I believe it could either be some things in the jungle that covered my eyes to the path such that I could not find the path. My colleague that brought us out was Malay and I suspect he knew why we could not get out and thus took over to navigate out that “obstacle”. So bottom line, respect the jungles and don’t do stuff that might be offensive or disrespectful. So bottom line, respect the jungles and don’t do stuff that might be offensive or disrespectful. Confession by Alvin Yeo This was a famous story that made its round as an urban legend and many boys serving national service would have heard it, but we've finally found the person who was the one who first experienced it when he was serving in the Police Academy, intake 115. This is his confession. - Eugene Tay Late one night after a hard day of physical training (PT) exercises and drill training, I was damn shagged and knocked out early. Midway through my sleep I was awakened with someone gently nudging me. “Bro, can follow me go toilet?” In my sleepy stupor, and barely able to see, I said ok and climbed off the top bunk to follow my buddy to the toilet. He walked in front of me and I just followed, weary eyed and still half asleep - you know that sleepy state where everything is a blur and you can’t really focus or see properly. We were at Bravo Company (coy), which was the building just between the mass canteen and Alpha coy (or OCT barracks), in front of the basketball courts. Behind the coy, where we hung all our laundry, was a forest with a cluster of banana trees. The toilet is on a half level down, between first and second floor. I followed him and reached the toilet. He went into the cubicle stall to take a shit while I went to the urinal. I didn’t really have to pee, but since I was there, might as well. Now, I’ve always been a bit afraid when it came to camp toilets as I’ve read all the stories and listened to all the horror tales. So as far as possible, I avoid looking at the mirror and the ceilings, for fear that I might spot something in the reflection or looking down at me. I don’t have the special third eye, but who knows.. better to not see. “Damn shag leh today, the drills and PT was damn tiring”, my buddy said from the stall. “Ya, tomorrow morning will be worse. IPPT coming up so confirm will kena from FI”, I replied, still peeing. “Yeah, but luckily got lesson in the afternoon so can relax a bit”, my buddy added. He could only be heard since the door was closed. I finished peeing and went to wash my hands. “Eh, faster leh, I wanna sleep!”, I chased. "Wait la, stomachache”, he explained. So I waited, still trying my best to avoid looking at the mirror and the ceiling. My mind was filling fast with ‘what if’ scenarios, and I was getting a little paranoid at what I might “accidentally” see if I’m unluckily. “Quick leh”, I chased again. No reply. He must be concentrating. So, I went to the next stall and climbed on the toilet bowl to peep over the connecting wall. There was no one. Absolutely no one. I climbed back down and went back to the sinks. Trying to keep calm and not reveal that I KNOW no one was in the stall, I said, “eh, I go back first la, damn shag. I wanna sleep liao.” And begun to slowly make my way towards the door. ‘He’ replied. The voice still coming from inside the cubicle, “You sure you really tired and wanna go back? Or you know who I am now?” My skin crawled and goose bumps ran all over my body.... My skin crawled and goose bumps ran all over my body.... I quickly ran back to my bunk and saw that my buddy was still in the lower bunk, soundly asleep. I immediately shook him and woke him up. “Bro! Something just pretended to be you and asked me to follow it to the toilet!!!”, I exclaimed, scared out of my mind.
He was utterly confused and had the ‘what the fuck’ look on his face. I went to turn on all the lights, much to the annoyance of my squad mates who were awakened by the sudden brightness. I quickly recounted my experience to them. Many were shocked and the more religious among us started to pray - some reciting the Quran, some reciting the Lord’s Prayer, and others went to take their Buddhist or Taoist amulets for protection. I had my rosary in the locker, so i quickly wore it around my neck. After a while, when we thought things were safe, we turned the lights off and went back to sleep at around 5am. We had to be up in a while so we tried to get a bit more sleep, though I’m not sure how many actually did sleep on. The next day, we told our Field Instructor (FI) and Officer-in-Command (OC) what had happened and they arranged for the barracks to be blessed. We were allowed to book our early as it was a Friday, and all weekend OB duties (apart from guard duty) were cancelled. So yeah, the old police academy is definitely haunted. Confession by Damah Mikah It's always very refreshing to hear first hand paranormal encounters retold by reformed skeptics. I've spent some time in Brunei myself and I am of the belief that the place is haunted. - Eugene Tay I didn't believe in supernatural beings until I was sent to Brunei in 2011 for my NS posting. I guess, seeing is believing. Incident 1: It was my first guard duty there, and I was doing sentry duty at about 1.30 in the morning. I was alone in the sentry post when I heard someone gave a sigh. I thought it was one of the regulars or my seniors who had sneaked up on me as part of the hazing ritual. I freaked out and came out of my sentry post, only to find no one within a 50m radius. Incident 2: This happened on the same night as Incident 1. I was on desk duty at 3am. Feeling bored, I stepped out of the Pass Office to have a chat with the sentry. In the middle of our conversation, we heard a loud bang. We turned our heads in the direction of where the sound came from, only to see this huge black figure walking casually on the pavement about 150m away from us, and disappeared into a wall. We wanted to give chase or check where it had disappeared to, but we had to stay in our posts (and perhaps that was a good thing). When I returned home a year later, I shared my experience with my father, and according to him, going with my description of it looking like Bigfoot (Black-figure whose height was about a 1-storey building and walks like a human being), he believes what my friend and I had seen must be a Genderuwo. Until this day, I am still puzzled on why it stepped on the drain cover which caused the loud bang.
Incident 3 (this is a long one): I have heard stories of possession cases when the guys get together to drink inside the bunk, but I never thought I would get to witness one myself. It was one of those nights when the guys were in the mood to drink. As bunk IC, I wasn't supposed to let them, but I also didn't want to make enemies (imagine sleeping in fear of being the target of a blanket party). I wasn't into drinking, and so I stayed in my bed and read a book. Suddenly, the bunk doors burst open, and I saw 4 guys restraining and dragging one guy to the toilet as he was thrashing around. When I asked what was going on, one of the guys who were drinking told me that the one being dragged to the toilet got possessed. According to him, the possessed guy got quiet all of a sudden and started growling during the drinking session, only to jump up from his seat and headbutted the fridge numerous times. He was running amok in the mess, kicking the bottles, and furniture while shouting, "Who are you?" in Malay. Some of them who had been there longer knew what was going on, and that was when they decided to wash him up. The guy who got possessed was not known for his strength (getting a pass for his IPPT was already a tremendous feat for him), but on that night, I witnessed 6 guys struggled to pin him down. He was causing a commotion, and I was afraid that the regulars would wake up, which would then lead to further questioning for me. Feeling desperate, I called up one of the sergeants for help since he was well-versed with Islamic prayers. I used to tease him for being "boring" as there were a lot of things that he didn't do with us due to his conviction with the faith. I never knew I would need his help very badly, and I looked at him in a different light ever since. With the guys pinning the possessed guy down, I gave those on the floor a hose down while the sergeant read out his prayers. The guy who got possessed gradually stopped thrashing about as he got disoriented. But I can never forget the piercing stare he gave me during the hose down. Those who got possessed before and during this incident were the Muslim guys. I wonder if this has something to do doing haram (Arabic for 'forbidden') things like drinking alcohol. Incident 4: It was during my rest time at 3.30am, and my next shift was at 5 in the morning. I couldn't sleep, and so I decided to head to the camp's canteen alone for the WIFI to download a few videos and check my messages on FB with my iPod Touch. I was in the middle of searching for the videos when the water dispenser started bubbling. It was a short one at first, and so I ignored it. But the second one lasted about 4 seconds, as if someone was pouring a drink even though I was the only one at the canteen. While this was happening, one of the chairs started to move by itself. I made a dash back to the guardroom immediately, despite having a sprained ankle. My friend who was on sentry duty, was surprised to see me back in the guardroom as he didn't see me coming from the rearview mirror of the sentry post, but only heard my frantic footsteps getting louder and nearer. We used the rearview mirror to spot vehicles/people approaching from the back of the sentry post. There were a few stories shared by my fellow campmates about how a pocong stood at the camp's front gates and kept on banging its head on the gates to how a goblin-like creature disturbs the camp prowlers by popping its head from behind the walls peekaboo style, but the ones I shared above are my own personal encounters. We can never get enough of Army Paranormal stories. If you have never ever seen a ghost in life, the best way to do it is by joining the army. - Eugene Tay Confession by Shawn
I was posted to SISPEC (School of Infantry Specialist) back in 2006. As part of the BSLC (Basic Section Leader Course), there was an Exercise called Exercise Wanderer. In groups of 5-7 with full battle order on, you were made to navigate almost the whole of Pulau Tekong to find Checkpoints (Symbols and code words tied to trees in which you must shade/copy them to prove you actually found them.) The exercise was split into day and night. For day, each group/sub section were to find at least 2 out of 4 given checkpoints. The area was limited to Tekong Main Land. Time limit was about 5 to 6 hours (IRC). For night, it was limited to the Reclaimed Land portion of Tekong, and it started from 7pm to 11pm. Target was finding at least 1 out of 2 checkpoints. My story begins during the Night Portion of Ex. Wanderer. My team managed to obtained the first of two checkpoints, and were proceeding to the second one. We checked our maps and compasses and proceeded to the area which we believed was where the second checkpoint was. We walked a slow pace and soon passed by a training shed that was being used a BMTC company which were having their field camp. At this point, 2 of my section mates were exhausted; one had carried a signal set for the whole day, and another was visibly strained. We made a decision to split the section up, two of them to rest at the training shed, while the remaining 4 of us to proceed on, to find the last checkpoint. Now according to our maps and directions, the checkpoint was located in the middle of the forest some 100meters away from the training shed, hence the 4 of us immediately set off. Out of the 4 of us who went it to the forest were 1 malay guy (Lets call him A) and 3 chinese (including myself). It took us less than 5 minutes to enter the outskirts of forest. Upon entering the forest itself (we were able to differentiate the outskirts from the forest itself as the forest had shorter grass as compared to the outskirts which were above ankle levels). I remembered that I was first to enter and the forest wasn't as dark as I thought. The air was slightly "thicker" but I paid no attention to it as all i wanted was to find the damn checkpoint and return back to base camp. The layout of the forest was very orderly. Trees were planted in rows and they were quite short. Simply by tilting your head up a bit, one could see the portion whereby the main trunk separated into the thick brunches. I was fast approaching one of the trees to see if the checkpoint was tied to one of them when I heard A shouting my name. A: "Shawn! Eh, I go back first to the training Shed ah!" And with that, he "Doubled" out of the area. Almost running at his full speed. Without waiting for us to reply or for us to give any approval. I was puzzled. I turned to looked at my other 2 section members. "A" wasnt the kinda of guy to give up halfway, and I was sure he wasn't exhausted or injured. Now, at this point there was a slight breeze blowing in our direction. On hindsight, I should have treated it like a "warning" as when we first entered, the air was "thick", so where would there be a breeze coming suddenly? I looked at my two remaining mates, and one signaled to me that he would go out and see if "A" was ok. He was afraid that "A" might get lost. Just as he was about to leave, he give me a long look. But in my exhausted state, I merely nodded and proceed deeper into the forest with my remaining buddy on my left. 3 minutes later in the forest, both my buddy and myself were frustrated and exhausted. We failed to find the checkpoint. We wanted to move in deeper but suddenly my buddy told me that we should leave. "Eh why sia? Just a bit more la. We already here, another 5 mins" i mumbled, irritated at the notion that the forest had defeated us. " Shawn, lets go. I don't have a good feeling. The hairs on my arm are standing." half whispered my buddy. He looked spooked. I looked at him and nodded. We then left the forest. Back the training shed, all 6 of us were resting. I looked at "A", he was paled faced and breathing heavily. A: " Shawn. I'm sorry. I thought that by calling out to you, all of you would follow me and get the hell of that forest." "Huh, what do you mean?" I replied. Turns out the moment "A" stepped into the forest, the hair on his arm stood. He wanted to dismiss it due to exhaustion but then he looked up. And his sight fell upon to the tree which I was very near to. He told us he saw a white figure with long hair covering its face looking down at me. Thats when "A" called out to me, saying that he will leave the area first. He did not want to alarm us and that figure and hoped that we would leave immediately with us. The other section mate who left before my buddy and myself also felt uneasy, which was why he signaled to me that he would leave to see if "A" was ok. Hearing this, I looked towards my buddy and asked him if he saw anything, since both of us were in the front of the pack and nearest to the trees. He shook his head and said he did not see anything but feel his hair standing as we ventured deeper. The group was spooked and remained in silence. After awhile, we said our own prayers and left the area, moving back to our base camp. It was back during my time in BMT, during the confinement week (first 2 weeks). I was appointed to BTMC school 1, Bronco company. Platoon 1. My bunk was located at level 2 of the building. As I was a new recruit, during the night water parade, I didn't think twice and drank the specific amount of water which my commanders ordered us to.
Little did I know, it led to my first supernatural encounter. In the wee hours of midnight (3-4am), due to the amount of water I drank earlier on, I felt the urge to urine. Originally, I was supposed to call my buddy to accompany me, but being gung-ho I didn't wake up my buddy and went to the toilet alone. Quickly, I walked to the toilet from my bunk which was located right at the other end of the floor. Upon entering the toilet, I walked past the cubicles and remembered seeing that all the doors were opened. It was clear that nobody was in the toilet except me. Hastily, I went to the nearest urinal to do my business. Once completed, as usual i went to wash my hands. It was this moment that something happened. The toilet cubicles were facing the basin area, so I'm able to see the reflection of the cubicles from the mirror. The first cubicle toilet system was the old flushing mechanism, those squat type toilet with the flush mechanism that requires you to pull the lever in order to flush. It was at this moment when I was washing my hands, suddenly the toilet at the first cubicle flushed. I didn't manage to see if the lever had been pulled. However, from my sight, I can hear and see water been flushed in that cubicle. Immediately, my fight or flight mode kicks in and I ran back to my bunk, covered myself in my blanket. Since then, during the rest of my BMT days, I only drank a slip of water during night water parade, to prevent myself from going to the toilet in the middle of the night. Up til today, whenever I recall back this encounter, it still gives me a bad vibe and spook me. Confessed by Lucian Our signaler claims he saw a Japanese soldier hanging from one of the branches smiling at him. First Encounter This happened to me about a year ago in the army, so its more or less still pretty fresh in my mind. Its not overly scary but it did creep me out for a month or two. For the most part, a lot of this could be explained as tricks of an overstressed brain, being in a jungle and all, although seven people seeing the same thing doesn't strike me as stress. On the very first night, my section mate, who's Malay, woke up to something pulling on his shirt and telling him slowly 'Don't disturb me again' repeatedly. This happened throughout the night and creeped me out like hell, also due to the fact that every hour or so he would wake me up asking if i heard it too. The following night, another of my section mates, from Papua New Guinea (he's an immigrant), was the sentry for my section. He spotted a black figure making its way towards where we slept and immediately assumed it to be one of our commanders sneaking up on us to make sure we had a guard awake. My mate loudly requested identification, and actually screamed when it jumped on the trees that grew right above us. We all woke up in time to see it practically Tarzan its way up the hill. Later, when we were tasked to dig shell scrapes, we were assigned the same spot of the hill. 10 minutes into the digging, we found that right under where we slept, there was a huge slab of red rock that was considerably smoother than the earth around it. It turned out to be a tombstone of sorts, about a century back when natives still managed the island. We actually sort of got lost in a century-old cemetery that was in the jungle as well, but i guess ill leave that for a different post The day after we found the tombstone, we had a navigation exercise that had us, as a section of seven people, find checkpoints all over the island. Technically, this isn't too hard to do, almost like a scavenger hunt, except that the points were small slips of paper tied to four or five of the thousand trees on the island. We did manage to find all of the checkpoints though, but at the end we were faced with a 400m bash through the swamp to reach back to base camp. What we didn't expect though was an abandoned cemetery in the middle of the swamp. The place was filled up to our knees with thick mud, and one of my section mates fell into a spot (we think it was a grave) that covered him to his chest before we managed to pull him up. There were bottles of ashes scattered around and a sealed up well that reminded me a lot of the Ring. Now this is all pretty ordinary standard stuff but what made it really creepy was that in the center of this swamp there was a patch of extremely well kept grass, almost carpet like, with this tree growing in the middle. My buddy muttered something along the lines of 'get out of here before its dark' and led us north-west, the supposed direction towards camp, and towards the tree. Now, i'm not exactly sure what happened after this because all of us seemed to experience different things. My Malay mate heard someone scream 'Why are you still here?' a few metres from him, while our signaler claims he saw a Japanese soldier hanging from one of the branches that was smiling at him. I personally seemed to have the mildest experience. Where the top most branch was, there was a man and a woman sitting on top there. I always expected ghosts to look hazy or greyish but these guys looked completely normal, less the sitting on a 5 metre high tree in the middle of the forest. The rest of my section just claimed to hear the same crying we heard the night before. We picked up our pace and practically ran past the tree and out onto a makeshift road. It might sound cliche, but at this point our comm set which had died for an hour, somehow turned itself back on. We were hearing constant reports about how my section hadn't reported in yet, even though it was 2 hours past the allocated time. Funny thing was that we were in the swamp for less than half an hour at 2.30pm. When we exited it was around 7.30. We obviously didn't report this to our commanders but the time lapse was something that kind of rattled us. Second Encounter I was doing regimental duties in the office next to mine a month ago when nature called. This happened around midnight as i was 'closing' several of the books. Now, the toilet is based outside round the curve of the corridor. When you open the door, you're met by a wall that doesn't connect all the way to the ceiling, leaving about 1/4 of the length empty. It serves as a partition to one of the cubicles. Well as i was saying, nature called, so i had to rush out to the toilet to take a huge dump. Upon entering, and I shit you not, there was a kid sitting on top of it. It didn't look like some The Grudge crap. The kid looked real enough, though i couldn't tell what gender it was either. Besides those two occurrences, there'd been minor things happening too. Like hearing clapping while there's no one else in the office. Office computers logging in themselves. My boss is convinced its some chinese feng shui issue. Shared by Patrick Timothy Boey [Story Source: Supernatural Confessions] [Image Source: Pinterest] So this was my first and only paranormal encounter, and it happened 3 years plus ago at Pulau Tekong when I was serving BMT during my NS stint, where I was a recruit at School 2's Ninja Company.
In the Ninja Company, there are four storeys in total, and each storey there are four bunks. My section stayed in the second storey's last bunk from the right. During the first month of my BMT stint, there were many nights where I will usually hear and be woken by what I call, "disturbance noises". These so called "disturbance noises" consisted of just generic environmental noises such as doors or windows squeaking, sea breeze and the fans rattling. Nothing scary in particular actually, but often times I will find myself woken up by these disturbance noises in the middle of the night, always around 2-3am. As time goes by and I find myself waking up more and more frequently between 2-3am due to these noises. the noises begun to sound louder and more "intentional" almost as though it's was caused intentionally. In my mind, I tried to logically convince myself that these sounds are a lot more obvious to me because either I'm focusing on on them too much or that it's too quiet at night. One night at round 2:45am, I woke up from quite a vivid dream. Again, I kept hearing those disturbance noises. But this time these noises sounded absurdly loud. At that moment, I was wondering how come no one was awake. The noises lasted for quite awhile and I was pretty disturbed by it. My heart was pounding pretty hard at this point. All of sudden at one point, the noises just abruptly stopped, like dead silence. (I didn't even hear any snoring sounds from my bunkmates). For a moment I thought the sound of my heartbeat has overwhelmed my sense of hearing, but I realised that the sounds really stopped. A short while later, the noises returned, but one by one in sequential order (usually the noises happened concurrently). First the fan rattled loudly and then it stopped. Next the sea breeze blew through the window, making the window squeaked, which then it stopped too. Lastly, the closed doors rattled violently, possibly due to the wind as well, and it stopped afterwards too. This all happened within a span of roughly 10seconds. Then the room was dead silent again. Roughly a few seconds later, I could hear fast running footsteps across the corridor outside our bunk, with a small child's voice giggling "Hur Hur". I immediately got out from my bed and ran straight to the door, opened it and see if there's anyone outside (yeah what the hell was I thinking). I turned left and right, and I saw that there's no one. At that moment I was entirely spooked. Then I ran back to my bed, wore my combat earplugs and covered my whole body with my blanket for the rest of the night. (I briefly checked my watch, and it showed that it was round 3:01am). For the remaining three months of my BMT I slept my nights away like this too. P.S Towards the end of BMT, I began to hear that the platoon who stayed at the top storey of the company also had people who experienced vivid paranormal experiences, such as seeing a little girl hanging outside the windows or the top corner of the bunk etc. I am not too sure of the full stories.
