Confessions by Hoseibo Incident One This was many years ago, we were preparing for our brigade exercise. My dept was the one that plans till very late during exercise prep. This night we prepped our stuff till about 3am. We finally completed what we wanted to do for the day and we called it a night. Me and my department colleagues all went back to our bunks to sleep. I decided to go shower before I sleep and my bunk was at 4th level and my colleagues 3rd level. As I walked into the toilet, I could hear the shower running at the last cubicle from the door. I did not really notice if the door was closed or open but the shower was on. I went to the other end cubicle facing the main door. I thought well dunno who else showering at this time. After showering, I came out of the cubicle. As usual, the kaypoh me walked to the end of the toilet to look at the cubicle where the shower was on just now, I saw the door was open and the floor was DRY! I don’t know if I was hallucinating it all as we just finished a tiring planning/ prep and it was already 3 plus am and being sleep deprived. I wasn’t thinking of any supernatural stuff prior to showering as well although my camp was famous for supernatural stuff. I buat bodoh and just walked back to my bunk, change into my sleep clothes and went to bed…. my camp was famous for supernatural stuff. Incident Two This happened to one of my company’s men, (not my direct ) My camp was built on reclaimed land (in Bedok), with a large wooded area just outside the fence, bordering a canal. The wooded area is govt land so we did some training there one night for night walk. One of my coy’s men, K, from a different platoon started screaming and crying hysterically and was pulled out of the night walk immediately by a couple of commanders. After he calmed down and my commanders asked him what happened he said he saw Japanese soldier beheading people in the wooded area. ( the place was reclaimed land so it was the beach prior , which explains) Fortunately K came out of the incident largely undamaged as some people who saw such horrific stuff usually don’t recover well. One of my coy’s men, K, from a different platoon started screaming and crying hysterically and was pulled out of the night walk immediately by a couple of commanders. The worst experiences was when you are the platoon Sgt or CSM who is supposed to count strength and be the last man during movement, especially when moving in vegetation. Single file most of the time.
Many a times when I’m walking behind and occasionally turn back to check I get the vibes on and off. Just have to shrug it off and not think about it and carry on. |
