ORIGIN STORY
Supernatural Confessions began from a book written and published by Eugene Tay in 2015 based on his personal experiences that took place over a two year period. The book became an accidental success and that seeded the formation of the community via Must Be the Hantu private group on Facebook.
The group was set up for paranormal survivors and only those who had experiences could join the group and talk about it. Through the sharing sessions, the community learned from each other and, in their individual ways, found their own answers to their questions. The YouTube and Podcast channel was launched in February 14 and April 1 of 2019 respectively. It began with interviews of spiritual practitioners from various religious backgrounds. The purpose was to document and talk about our esoteric culture and heritage. Supernatural Confessions started gaining traction and the Facebook Group exploded from 50 to 500 members. That's when the dam broke and non-paranormal survivors also wanted to join the community. Supernatural Confessions came out from under the shadows and opened its doors to the public. PRE-COVID Era: First live stream and the birth of the Podcast
Eugene roped in long time friends Tim Oh and Eugene Toh (ET) to join him in the first ever Live Stream event on May 24, 2019, via a watch party on Facebook. It was charmingly amateurish with terrible sound quality (because Eugene plugged the mic into the wrong audio jack) but the Supernatural Confessions community wanted more and that led to Eugene and Tim producing weekly audio podcast episodes as it was logistically less intensive than a live stream show. The Supernatural Confessions Podcast came into proper existence. In July 29, 2019, Eugene invited Zoei Zhang, another childhood friend who was flying with Emirates at that time and a budding Tarot reader, to do reading for the community on live stream. The segment proved highly popular and caught the attention of Kontinentalist, a data driven, storytelling agency, who wanted to collaborate with Supernatural Confessions for a Halloween live stream event that year. A few months later, the entire world was locked indoors due to the COVID pandemic. The birth of Ghost-mortem and friday night live
Tim Oh and Eugene Tay invested in proper equipment (Logitech 1080p webcam, Blue Yeti mic) and took the podcast to live stream on March 27, 2020 with the first episode covering Urban Legends. It went live on Friday at 10:00pm. The original name of the show was called Supernatural Confessions The Podcast, but the community referred to it simply as Friday Night Live. Ghost-Mortem, a live stream show featuring horror short films, hosted by Eugene and Jonathan Lim debuted on April 2, 2020. They had met the previous year for a featured confession and bonded over the common love of horror films. Since they could no longer watch movies at the cinema, they decided to bring the cinema to the audience. Ghost-Mortem ran for five seasons and ended its run officially July 26, 2022. To ensure that the live stream ran smoothly, Eugene Tay roped in good friend Alvin De Cruz to manage the backend operation, earning De Cruz the moniker 'Smooth Operator'. De Cruz ran ops for Supernatural Confessions from 2020 to 2023. THE BABA BROS ERA (APR 2020 - MAR 2021)
April 17, 2020, Eugene Toh, aka ET, joined Tim and Eugene on Supernatural Confessions The Podcast and added a different dimension to the show starting the "feud" between believers and skeptics. ET, who had served as the Vice-President of Singapore Paranormal Investigator (SPI), and later on as the founder of Society of Paranormal Investigators (SPI), was a pioneer in the paranormal scene and unlike Eugene, his approach was 'it's not a ghost until proven otherwise' which a great contrast to the Supernatural Confessions tagline 'it must be the hantu (ghost)' This feud was the winning formula that got audience tuning in and taking sides. This was officially the beginning of the Baba Bros era. Audience loved the show for its original ghost stories, light hearted banter, personal burns, and the the tight camaraderie of the three hosts. The last Baba Bro episode was aired on February 5, 2021, with ET conceding, for the first time, that he had no explanation for some of the confessions and that it must be the ghosts. THe dream team Era (April 2021 - nov 2022)
Eugene recruited new hosts, Kim (Malaysia), Sonia (Sembawang), and Joseph De Cotta (Australia) to the Friday Night Live crew in April 2021. Their unique personalities riffed off each other instantly. The feud continued from the previous era, but with Sonia taking the super-rational stance. Kim represented the voice of the lay person, and Joseph sees things from the optics of a practicing psychologist. The last Dream Team episode was aired on Oct 21, 2022 during the first Live Live Show performance. THe Hantu ally era (2023 - present)

Frequently Asked Questions
ARE THESE STORIES REAL?
The stories that we write are based on our personal experiences. Some stories are sent to us by Confessors with nothing to gain from fabricating a story. We give these stories the benefit of the doubt and accept them as they are. Stories are edited for narrative purposes.
i THINK i MIGHT NEED SPIRITUAL HELP. cAN YOU HELP ME?
We will not be able to help you directly. However, we are associated with the local council of spiritual practitioners and will be able to direct you to someone whom we trust.
i THINK MY HOME IS HAUNTED, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
You can do a simple test by putting a lime in a glass of water at each corner of the affected rooms. In the mean time, record every strange occurrence that you encounter. Take note of the time and location. Photographs and videos would be very helpful. Observe what becomes of the lime and record your findings as well. Send your journal over to us and we'll get in touch with you.
wHAT RELIGION IS THIS?
It's not a religion. We explore the lore and culture of various practices. Some of them could delve into religions but only for the purpose of describing the origins of the practice. Having more knowledge will definitely cause you to reflect on your own beliefs, but the content herein does not compare one religion over another.
wHAT DOES THE SUPERNATURAL CONFESSIONS LOGO MEAN? iS IT SATANIC?
Nope. It's not satanic. It is derived from sacred geometry and Elder Futhark runes. You can read the explanation here - https://www.supernaturalconfessions.com/sclogo.html
hOW WAS SUPERNATURAL CONFESSIONS FOUNDED?
Supernatural Confessions was founded by Eugene Tay. It started in 2014 when Eugene begun working on the first book in this series as a way to find closure to his own supernatural experiences. He spent two years battling the supernatural and was dragged into a world people don't talk about. These are the stuff you don't find detailed online because people with real stories don't share it with the world. After the book was published in 2015, Eugene received emails and calls from strangers who confessed that they too had personal encounters but had no one to turn to. Supernatural Confessions became a safe haven for survivors of supernatural encounters to find support among each other.
