Confession by Hady Jay It was in late 2017. My team and I were managing an event at One Degree 15 in Sentosa. It was midnight when we finished our event and by the time we dismantled the structure and packed up, it was almost 1.30am. We loaded our stuff in the lorry and my boys drove off first. I walked to my car alone - it was about 2am by that time - and I was feeling uneasy as if something was following me. I muttered a silent prayer and tried to calm my nerves. I was tired and all I wanted to do was to go home, shower and sleep. I got to my car safe and sound, gunned the engine and drove off. While driving out of One Degree 15, suddenly a white figure landed on the left side of my car bonnet. It was just sitting there with its back towards me. I could see her black long hair and her back. I didn’t stop the car, I kept driving but I could feel my car slowing down as if I was ferrying something extremely heavy. I was driving at 60km/hr but it felt like 30km/hr. My heart started to pound in my chest. From sleepy, I was suddenly wide awake. I thought to myself, “please, please, please, don’t turn around and look at me.” I quickly played some Quranic verses from Al Baraqah surah Yasin. The white figure flew off into the night and disappeared. I prayed in my heart that it wouldn’t follow me home. * Another incident that also took place in 2017 was when I was managing a Corporate Event in Sentosa Sofitel Hotel. After the set up, I decided to drive out of Sentosa to perform my Solat Maghreb. I went to the nearby mosque Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim @ 30 Telok Blangah Road.. Maghreb main prayer was already performed because I arrived late, so I took my wudhu and prayed alone in the middle of the prayer hall. As I was about to start praying I felt a tap on my left shoulder like someone was telling me that we should Solat Berjemaah which meant I became the Imam and the person behind me became the Makmum (follower). I took a quick side glance and saw a figure of a man standing slightly behind me on my right. I started the Solat and during recitation of the Doas with every pause I heard a faint Amin coming from behind. After finishing the Doas I turned around to greet the person with a Salam but there was nobody there. I wonder who and what it was that prayed together with me. |
