James, 78 Retired Police Officer When I was active in the force, we saw many things. It was a norm. Nowadays, young people talk about what’s logical and what's not. Back then, there were no such things. All of us believed in the supernatural because everyone had experienced something strange. That was the norm.
I’ve got so many stories that I remember clearly even till today. I’m going to share the one about a black cat that would always come to the station to visit us. In one of your confession videos you showed CCTV footage of a black cat walking and then disappearing, I saw something similar with my own eyes. This happened around the former Joo Chiat police station. Today the whole area is unrecognizable, only the facade remains. Gangs were rampant in those days. Joo Chiat was rife with gang wars in the 50s. In the 70s, they were somewhat tame, although many were still active. Many of them dabbled in occult. Mostly for protection and power. One of them was quite a regular at the station - known by many as Hock - he would go in and out of prison many times. Mostly for fights. One thing we noticed is that everytime he was inside, there would always be a black cat loitering outside the station. Those of our colleagues with the sight said that the cat was not a normal animal. The thing about Hock is that he almost never got hurt in any fights. Always laughed and said he was just lucky. One night I was on duty and when I stepped out to smoke, I saw the cat 'fighting' with a dark shadowy thing. I kid you not; I was standing there, just watching, and saw the cat literally flame up, dashed towards a tree and vanished. The shadow thingy went after it, disappearing too. All these happened in under a minute tops. The next morning when we went to check on Hock, he had scratches over his face and body. He wasn’t in such a jovial mood. Word around the station was that a rival gang member was using dark arts to get back at him. Parang was not enough. I’ve always wondered about Hock and how he would die when the time comes. Eugene’s Notes: I’m going with Djinn theory. Will bring up tales of my time speaking with an Ustaz who says that even till today people are coming to him for spells for protection. It’s mostly quite safe, if you know how to take care of Jinn. Much like the Thai take care of Kumantong. Will share a story of a boy who bought a mantra off Carousell and got more than he bargained for. This is by far the first time I’ve heard of a Flaming Kitten. BUT if you consider Jinns to be based on Islamic mythology, which are known in the books to have flaming eyes and orange skin. And Jinns can take many forms. So… Flaming Kitten it is. |
