Confessed by Ming As most people know, Changi Airport is built on a reclaimed land. In the past this area was actually a malay fishing village. At Terminal 2 (T2), near gate F59/60, they have this automated travelator. As part of the power saving feature, the travelator would only work when it detects someone passing by its sensor. Those of us working in the airport know that it's only this particular travelator that will "malfunction" and operate on its own when there's no one around. Engineering department has looked into this many times but cannot find anything mechanically wrong with it. Not sure if it's connected or not, but around that same gate, people have reported seeing a little girl sitting atop the aerobridge, swinging her legs. The reports came from different people who are not related but the description is always the same - she's wearing a white dress, has long hair and no eyes. Also at T2, gate F35, there was this incident where a few years back there was an accident where a toll car ramp into the gates and the driver died instantly. Though you will not find this reported in the news as it was covered up internally. This gate is the one which requires travelers to walk down a flight of stairs to board the bus that sends them to the plane. So there was once, when my colleague and I were preparing to receive the travelers when out of sudden someone walked into the holding area from the boarding side to tell us that the bus is ready. At that point in time, we were pre-occupied so we just replied, "OK." Later on, when we were ready to receive travelers, we remembered that door can only be opened from the inside of the holding area. So, how did that person come in? We did a quick radio check with the rest of our colleagues but no one was near us during that incident so... who the hell was that? Terminal 3 (T3), Gate B10, is also another hot spot for paranormal encounter, or should I say - cold spot. This gate generally feels colder than any other gates and it's not because of the air-conditioning. Those working in that terminal believe it is because the stairs from that gate leads towards to a room downstairs which is used primarily as a holding area for passengers who died on the flight or bodies of the deceased to be repatriated. There was one incident when my colleague walked past and felt a chilling vibe. The cold spot was colder than usual and something did not smell right. In order to get to the ops room, he had to walk past the holding room. Just as he was approaching the room, a red ball bounced out of the room across his path. He picked it up and looked into the room. It was dark, there were nobody in the room, and no flight scheduled at that gate either. Then he heard the sound of children giggling and the pitter-patter sound of feet running around. My colleague didn't wait around to find out where the source of the sound came from, he just ran all the way back to ops and shared this story only with a handful of colleagues.
Anyway just a side reminder, the blankets given on board, some were used to cover the dead that passed away on board. Something for you to think about the next time you fly. |
