Confession by K, submitted by Dark Arts of Syed Wilson
For those who used to or still staying in Tanglin Halt 'chap lau' especially the blocks near to the railway might be familiar with 'ghost stories' based on the railway itself. I recall a story shared to me by my friend, 'K'. It was back in 1989 that this incident occured. 'K' lives on the ground floor and his backdoor was facing the railway track. His parents placed a wooden bench and a collapsable canopy and called it 'lepak' corner. That fateful night 'K' and a few friends decided to chill at the 'lepak' corner. It was around 9pm. While chatting, one of his friends pointed out an apparition of a person walking slowly along the railway. 'Lets take a look..it could be Mamat from block 66 trying to scare us or something!' said 'K' They went to the railway track to take a closer look. It was quite dark and they couldn't make out who was walking along the railway track. The apparition was quite a distance away. "You guys wait here, I'll get my torchlight!" he said. Before he could return to his friends he saw them scrambling away in fear as if they had seen a ghost! Out of curiosity he went to the railway track to see whats going on but there was nothing there. A few days later he found out that they saw an apparition resembling a headless figure carrying its head in one hand! 'K' was thankful that he didn't see the apparition that night or else he might be scrambling off like his friends as well. |
