Ghosts of Singapore's Arts District

Amid the neon-lit streets of Bugis and Bras Basah lies a quieter, older heartbeat — one that beats to the rhythm of whispered legends, faded memories, and stories that have lingered for decades. This is Waterloo Street, home to temples, theatres, colonial relics, and a long-standing tradition of tales that slip between history and the supernatural.

Created by acclaimed storyteller and paranormal researcher Eugene Tay, Waterloo Ghost Walk invites audiences on an immersive walking tour through the district’s hidden corners. Each stop offers a carefully curated mix of historical context and first-hand accounts — from the colourful days of Peace Centre’s nightlife to whispered rumours around reclusive convents.

It’s a journey through a Singapore few see: the overlap of art, faith, and folklore, where spirits may not be seen, but are deeply felt. For those with an ear for stories and an appetite for mystery, the night awaits.

Step into the shadowed heart of Singapore’s arts district, where history and the supernatural intertwine.

Waterloo Street is one of Singapore’s oldest surviving roads, but beneath its reputation as the “street of harmony” lies a much darker and lesser-known story. For generations, migrants, merchants, students, and devotees walked these alleys, leaving behind not only temples and schools, but also lingering echoes of fear, tragedy, and the inexplicable.

The Haunting Heritage: Waterloo Ghost Walk invites you to peel back the polished layers of the city and rediscover what still clings to its shadows. Led by Supernatural Confessions, this curated walk blends historical fact, folklore, and first-hand paranormal accounts, creating a tour unlike anything in Singapore.

What you will experience:
  • Forgotten School Stories – Step into buildings that once held classrooms where children learned by day but whispered of apparitions by night. Former students have left chilling confessions of footsteps, voices, and faces that didn’t belong.
  • The Secrets of Waterloo Street – Discover why this narrow stretch became home to multiple places of worship. Was it harmony—or an ancient attempt to suppress restless spirits tied to the land?
  • Confessions and Folklore – Hear accounts collected over years of investigation: students possessed at nearby camps, actors who refused to perform at haunted wayang stages, and locals who speak of “shadows that watch.”
  • The Paranormal Lens – Learn how investigators approach such sites today, separating rumour from ritual, and experience first-hand why folklore is considered an inseparable part of Singapore’s heritage.

This isn’t a theatrical fright tour with cheap jump scares. It is a boutique storytelling experience where heritage meets the haunted, and where participants are given space to reflect on the thin veil between the living and the lingering.

If you’ve ever wondered what secrets lie beneath Singapore’s oldest streets—this is where you’ll find out.

TOP 5 REASONS TO JOIN THIS TOUR

1. Step Into Forgotten Histories
Explore one of Singapore’s oldest streets, where every building hides stories of migrants, communities, and untold secrets the guidebooks don’t mention.

2. Where Heritage Meets the Haunted

It’s not just a history tour. You’ll uncover chilling tales of hauntings, strange encounters, and whispers that linger in the shadows of once-bustling schools, theatres, and hidden corners.

3. See the City Differently

Even if you’ve walked these streets before, you’ve never experienced them like this—through the eyes of folklore, superstition, and the paranormal lens of Supernatural Confessions.
4. A Boutique, Intimate Experience
This isn’t a mass-market bus tour. Small groups mean personal storytelling, deeper engagement, and the chance to ask the questions you’ve always wanted about the supernatural.

5. Be Part of Living Folklore

Stories fade if they are not told. By joining, you help keep alive the heritage and mysticism of Singapore, ensuring the next generation doesn’t forget the island’s uncanny roots.
