Step off the mainland and into the mists of time as you join us for Haunting Tales of Ubin—a walking tour into the paranormal heart of the island.
Step off the mainland and into the mists of time as you join us for Haunting Tales of Ubin — a night walk through the paranormal heart of Singapore’s most storied island.

When the last ferry departs and the mainland lights fade across the water, a different Ubin awakens. The air grows heavier, the trails quieter, and what was once unseen begins to stir.

The journey begins in Ubin Town Centre, where whispers of the old world still linger. Here, the ghosts of a getai stage are said to perform long after the music ends, and the spirit of the town well still demands respect — skeptics who mocked it, as the islanders will tell you, paid a terrible price.

You’ll pass a house once sealed with talismans and padlocks — not to keep people out, but to prevent what was left behind from ever leaving. Nearby stands a temple forgotten after the mining years, a site where even the guide himself has witnessed signs that the old gods are still active, still watching.

The highlight of the night is a walk through an overgrown cemetery, home to one of Ubin’s largest and most forgotten graves — belonging, perhaps, to someone important. Many participants have felt a presence here; others have captured things their eyes did not see.

Throughout the tour, your guides share first-hand accounts, island superstitions, and protective customs once practiced by Ubin’s villagers to guard against unwanted encounters. These are stories never written down, passed only through memory — and through those willing to listen.

Once a thriving kampong filled with superstition and reverence, Pulau Ubin remains one of Singapore’s last frontiers — a place where the line between the living and the dead is said to be thinner.

Led by Eugene Tay, dark-tour specialist, and Yong Liang, an Ubin native whose roots stretch back generations, this tour combines authentic folklore, oral history, and the immersive thrill of walking the island after dark.

Come with curiosity, courage, and an open heart.

On Ubin, the night listens — and sometimes, it answers.

Basic information - Walking tour
  1. This is a rain-or-shine event. We will proceed in the event of light rain. However, if the weather is deemed too dangerous to proceed, the tour will be rescheduled for another day. A refund will be provided if you are unable to make the new date.
  2. Participants must be of moderate fitness - able to walk for 2.5 hours without rest. Moderate slope and two flights of stairs.
  3. The Hosts will do their best to take care of all participants and ensure a fun and safe tour, however there may be situations that are considered acts of nature that was not pre-empted. Participants agree to not hold Supernatural Confessions and the Hosts responsible for any unforeseen mishaps.
  4. This is a walking tour hosted by professional hosts who would regal you with tales of myths, legends, and lore. These are real stories told by real people, and collected personally by Eugene Tay. You will not find these stories online.
  5. We will not be going to explore the entire island because that would require a high level of fitness and probably an overnight expedition. We will not be hunting ghosts, we will not be using paranormal devices to detect their presence. What you will get is a mind-blowing storytelling experience about a supernaturally active place many have talked about, but few have seen.

Some admin stuff to ensure your safety and comfort.

Safety
Please sound out if you have:
  • existing condition(s).
  • feeling unwell.
  • notice a fellow Walker feeling unwell.

Water Resource
  • The entire duration of the walk is about 2 hours.
  • Please hydrate sufficiently.
  • There is only one pitstop three quarters of the way into the tour with toilet and water point.

Pace
  • The pace is normal walking speed (4km/hour).
  • We will have about 10 checkpoints throughout the tour where we will stop to tell stories.
  • The terrain is flat ground mostly.

Comfort
  • You do not need specific hiking shoes for this walk. Wear your comfortable walking shoes or slippers.
  • it’s a rain or shine event. Bring your umbrella if you don’t fancy being drenched.
  • if mosquitoes ain’t your thing, bring some insect repellent.
  • The places we are going are known for their paranormal encounters. The tour is relatively safe supernaturally speaking, but if required, we can refer you to one of our contacts for deep soul cleansing.

Parking
  • If you are driving, consider parking at Changi Village Carpark 1 or 2, or along the Changi Village Road.

Public Transport
  • Cab is hard to flag down, and Grab is hard to book as it gets closer to midnight. (Cab drivers still remember the tales of a lady in white flagging down cabs along Changi Road).
  • There are however a few buses you can take from Changi to get back to civilisation (Pasir Ris, Tampines, Tanah Merah) where you can get a cab or change to other modes of public transport.
  • Most buses operate out of Changi around midnight; to be safe, you would want to catch your bus around 11.30pm.

Videography
  • Photography is great! Click away as much as you like and share them on social media.
  • However, we ask that you do not video the tour.
  • First of all the lighting is really bad, so unless you got night vision cams, it’s going to be grainy and shaky.
  • Secondly, we don’t want to spoil the mystery by releasing these uncurated footages on the internet.
  • If you are from the media and want to do a promo for us, reach out to us and we can discuss how best to film it.

Enjoy the walk.
