I used to work in a privately owned museum which has a bistro in the basement, some tables on level 1 for people to drink, rooftop bar on the 5th floor. During closing, my duties were to close up the gift shop, and go up to each level of the museum and turn the lights off.
Ten mins before closing time, I would announce that the museum would be closing and for guests to leave. I saw a lady on the 3rd floor (the floor which displays antique dolls) with her back toward the CCTV. I announced again that the museum is now closed and for all guests to leave. They have to walk pass me to get out of the entire place, so I sat there watching the CCTV and waiting for her to get out. But, she was still there. So I decided to just go up and shut off everything and meet her on the 3rd floor to usher her out. Take note that this is a museum displaying antique stuff and sunlight should not be allowed in. Even the lights are dimmed down so the items won't get damaged. It has got a pretty creepy vibe in the museum, but I was quite used to the place so I wasn't that spooked. Except for the doll room. I have an intense phobia of dolls and used to get physically sick when I know there is a doll nearby. When I lead tours around and get to the doll room, I try my best to not look at the dolls at all times (or I will puke on the guests). When you turn the lights off, the entire room is plunged into pitch darkness. Cannot even see your hand in front of you type of dark. 4th floor goes fine. 3rd floor. I have to walk all the way into the room, go to the very end, off the lights and walk back out in pitch darkness. I had forgotten to bring my phone with me so I had no flashlight. I walked in trying to spot the lady but there was absolutely no-one there. I stopped in the middle of the room and go "Well, fuck my life." Speed walked to the end of the room, turned the lights off, and tried my best to calmly walk away like nothing was wrong. The next night, the bar and bistro were getting quite busy and I decided to give the wait staff some help. After turning off all the lights in the museum, I went to the basement bistro. The manager asked me to get a certain beer for this customer. Thing is, the beer tap for that certain beer was located on the rooftop bar accessed by the lift. The lift from the basement was through a very dark little corner of the kitchen. NONE of the staff liked to go to that corner and would rather walk up 6 flights of stairs and down 6 flights again with a tray of beer. I, being the lazy and clumsy ass that is me, decided to take the lift. The lift opened up at the 3rd floor on the way up. It opened up into pitch darkness with no-one around, and refused to close. After pressing the close button for about five long mins, it closed and went on its way. After getting the beer, I questioned myself if I wanted to take the lift down again. Lazy me decided, yes fuck it. Sure enough, the lift opened again on the 3rd floor. By this time, I was scared but frustrated as well. So I said out loud, "Mai siao siao hor." After a minute, the door closed. I decided I wasn't going to stay for this shit any longer. So after serving the customer his beer, I went to the staff room to prepare to leave. Trick is, staff room is on the 2nd floor and I would have to walk in pitch darkness to get to it. Took the lift again (call me crazy or brave). As I was getting my bag, there was knocking on the staff door. I said "What? Just come in lah, it's open what." Nothing. Then another round of knocks. I decided to open the door. No-one. I was like thinking to myself "Walao! Shit man!". I just turned back in and grabbed my bag out of the locker as quickly as I could. Just before I left the staff room, the chef came in. I told him what happened and he said there was once after work around 4am, he took the lift down because he was also feeling lazy, and instead of going down, the lift went up to the 3rd floor and remained open instead of closing. He almost shat his pants and ran out of the building using the stairs. On my last day, I heard that the boss had called a priest to bless the place because there were too many such incidents and a lot of staff quitting. I do not know how the place is now after the blessing though. My cousin Zubaidah came to stay over my place one night. My room has a double deck bed with my sister Maria taking the top bunk, and I sleep on the lower bunk.
Zubaidah and I shared the bed when she came over that night. We went to bed around eleven something at night. Maria had already fallen asleep before me. I thought I saw long black hair coming down the side from the bunk bed above against the side of the wall. I nudged Zubaidah awake and pointed at the hair. She asked me to look up the bed where Maria sleep, whether is her hair or not. So i looked up and saw Maria sleeping left hand side, away from the wall. So it wasn’t her hair. I told Zubaidah it must be her Barbie doll’s hair. So we ignored it and slept. When morning came, Zubaidah went up Maria’s bed to see whether it was Maria’s barbie or not. The strange thing was that the barbie doll at blonde hair and it isn't that long. So what was it that we saw last night which was black and long? Strange! Could it be the doll changed its hair colour only a night?? Or.. maybe it's the ghost hair? Well actually, Maria should turn over her barbie’s face down in the bed when she goes to sleep Any dolls or soft toys with eyes should turn their face over when someone wanna sleep with it. If not.. the evil will get inside them and disturb you. This is true! If you do not believe, try it yourself… I went over to my then-boyfriend-now-ex's house for dinner at about 6 pm. After dinner, I was bored enough to actually play with my ex’s niece, nephews and a bunch of other kids who were aged around 5 to 8 years old in one of the bedrooms.
I was watching the kids play when suddenly the 5 year old niece (Krystle) tripped over this English baby doll (those with the blinking eyes, eyelashes, ultra creepy kind). Krystle started crying and like most Chinese parents who hit whatever that hurt their precious little child, I picked up the doll and started spanking its bottom repeatedly. It worked and her niece started giggling so I put the doll down on the ground and went to the living room to watch TV. Suddenly, my ex’s older sister (Brenda) came out from an adjacent room asking which kid was the little prankster who tapped her from behind several times. Upon hearing the commotion, I asked her what happened. She explained that she was in the bedroom adjacent to the kids’ room where the door was left ajar and the lights were turned off because her fiance was taking a nap. With nothing to do, she was gazing at the mall opposite from their flat through the window when someone tapped her lower back from behind. The first time she ignored it and brushed it off as one of the kids playing a prank on her. The second time, she turned around and at the corner of her eye caught a glimpse of a half naked (top half) kid dashing out of her room. Thinking that the kids were trying to play with her, she looked for them in the other room and was puzzled to find that all of them were fully clothed. She was certain of what she saw but came out of the room puzzled. Who exactly was that little kid who was half naked? Confession by Andie Looi This happened way back in 2016, where Pokemon Go was the crazed back then. So many people was so into it that you will see places crowded with people playing, basically this game required you to go to different location in around Singapore to catch different types of Pokemon and doing battles at gym. That's where i had my few encounters playing this game. My very first encounter happened at East Coast Park along the stretch of road near National Sailing Centre, i was playing together with my wife, aunt and uncle. It was around 11pm to 12 midnight after we finished having our supper at East Coast Lagoon Food Village, and we saw on the map near National Sailing Centre there was a Charizard around that vicinity which is pretty rare and hard to catch. After catching Charizard we split up into two groups, me and my wife and my aunt with my uncle just catching some other Pokemon so after some time of catching we decided to look for my aunt and uncle. We saw they were about 400 m in front of us and waving at us standing beside a tree so we walk towards them, while along the way still catching some Pokemon in between we would still look up and make sure that they were in front but discovered they were not. In our mind was like maybe they had walk even further ahead, but after like a few minutes we heard them calling us from behind us. We find it weird as they were so far ahead of us and for that few minutes we definitely could not have walk that fast to catch up with them. So we asked them did they waved at us earlier they said no and were always behind us and didn't waved at us or overtook us. While we were discussing this i saw up on the tree a very BIG BLACK thing fly across and vanished, and after which i smell a very strong nice fragrance in the atmosphere, i totally don't feel comfortable so i suggested we stop playing and headed home. We were still discussing about it while in the car when suddenly i saw Omastar on the map at Bishan Park, so i suggested that we go there and catch it. It was quite a distance between the carpark and the exact location, so i suggested that i go alone myself to help catch it for all of us.
Once we reached the carpark, i ran full speed ahead as i did not want to miss catching it, when i reached the location there was only me and one other guy around. After catching Omastar i began walking back to the carpark and along the way there was no other people was around except me, so i slowly strolled back and it was pretty dim and dark and suddenly i smelled the same sweet fragrance smell again. I decided not to looked up for fear of seeing the apparition face to face, i ran as quickly as my legs could carry me towards the carpark. After reaching there my uncle was out looking for me for fear that something might have happened to me. We managed to find each other and headed home together, what are the chances of it happening twice in one night. At the end of the day i am just glad that everyone is safe and nothing unusual happened and i would never want to know what was that. Some would say it's a Pontianak but for me i wouldn't want to know what was it and definitely wouldn't want to come face to face with it. I had a same encounter at Yishun park too when i was playing alone and went back home around 4am. It was quite a walking distance between my house to Yishun park so while walking up the hill i smelled the same sweet smell and a big black thing flying across the trees so as usual i ran with all my might back home and i am glad nothing happened to me. After all these encounter i stopped playing the game, for fear of really seeing any apparition. Since then I've stopped going to any parks late at night as you will never know what you might see, hear or smell... or worse still, one day my luck will run out and I come face to face with a real Pontianak. Confession by Angie, written by Eugene Tay
This is a story told to me by someone who used to work at the Institute of Mental Health. She wasn't born with the third eye but it was opened for her. She was still a very young nurse when she first started working there and for one of the wards, it was a well known section where the patients are actually mentally sound. Their caregivers put them in there because there's just something odd about their behaviour that isn't accepted by society. One of this patient was an elderly man. Well spoken. No violent tendencies. The more senior nurses told her to just go in, do what she need to do and leave. Don't look him in the eye, don't talk to him, just go. This made her even more curious. She went in to check on him but decided to take a peek from the corner of her eye. She saw him smiling at her. Not in a creepy way. More in a kindly fashion to say, "thank you." She thought it would be impolite to ignore him so she turned to return his smile. It was just be a smile and she would be off, she told herself. What kind of person would just ignore someone and walk away. She couldn't do that. "Nurse Angie, thank you," he said. She nodded at him and left. After she left, she realised that it was her first week on the job and she didn't have her name tag, and she didn't not introduce herself to him, so how could he have known? The next day she checked in on him again, she felt more at ease. All that warnings that the senior nurses had told her, she reckoned, it must be just to scare her as a new staff. It's probably one of the harmless ragging that they do around here. He was sitting up and reading, when she got in. He smiled at her again. She smiled back. Meeting his eyes this time. "It's a noble career," he said, "you shouldn't doubt yourself." She looked at him confused. "You took up nursing because you felt like you couldn't take care of your grandmother, but now that you did, you are beginning to doubt your decision. Don't." This time she was really curious. It was like this man could read into her mind. So she approached him and they got to talking. She learned from the conversation that they had that the man, Uncle Jimmy, could tell people's future just by looking at them. While you may think that that is a gift, it is not something he can turn off. He also told her that her grandmother was still around. Angie broke down crying at that point. She's been very close to her grandmother and was guilty about not being able to take care of her in the last few years of her life when she was battling cancer. The man asked if she would like to see her grandmother and Angie replied yes without hesitation. Jimmy asked Angie to come closer to him and close her eyes. She don't know what he did, but she felt a sensation like someone blowing into her face. She still had her eyes closed when she heard her senior nurse coming in and telling Jimmy to behave himself as she pulled Angie out. Angie for her part got reprimanded for not listening to her seniors. When she retold her story to them, the nurses looked at each other, unsurprised. They all admitted that they have no idea how Jimmy know about each of their lives intimately like he was with them the whole time or in their minds, but that really freaked everyone out. That night Angie couldn't sleep. Her room was fully air-conditioned but she tossed and turned, feeling her whole body was hot. At first it came as a whisper; it was familiar. Then she closed her eyes and focused on the voice and in her mind's eye she was able to see her grandmother in her room. She could see her grandmother's mouth moving but she couldn't hear anything. When Angie tried to get closer to the the vision, the ghost of grandmother just faded away. That was the first incident, and since then, she was able to hear voices and if she concentrates hard enough she thinks that she can actually see these spirits. Angie was posted out about about a year later and she hasn't seen or heard about Jimmy since. The new nurses working them have no idea who he is either. It's almost like he's been erased from the records. |
